Historical Accounts
Murders and Mysterious DisappearancesThe Grand Midway Hotel holds more than just echoes of the Titanic; it is also a site of enigmatic tales and dark history. In the early 1900s, the hotel was the scene of a chilling murder. A prominent businessman was found dead in his room under suspicious circumstances, his death shrouded in mystery to this day. The details remain unsolved, yet guests often report feeling an unsettling presence in the room where he met his untimely end.
Adding to the hotel’s haunted reputation are accounts of children who have vanished without a trace. Local legends speak of several children who supposedly disappeared while staying at the hotel during the 1920s. Despite exhaustive searches, no traces of them were ever found, leaving behind only whispers of their laughter echoing in the hallways. These legends perpetuate the eerie atmosphere and contribute to the hotel’s storied past.
